"The Kitchen Remodel: A Consumer Perspective" Reveals What Motivates Consumers to Remodel, and Who is Most Likely to Do It

A new report from The NPD Group, “The Kitchen Remodel: A Consumer Perspective,” examines which households are most likely to remodel and what motivates them to do it.The study finds that among homeowners, one out of ten remodeled during the past 12 months, while one in twenty households plan to remodel within the next 12 months.

 

NPD Sees Solid Back-To-School Spending This Year

Back-to-school season has become the second largest retail season of the year and a very important indicator of what retailers need to do for the upcoming holiday season. According to a consumer-spending poll from leading sales and marketing information company, The NPD Group, back-to-school spending is expected to remain at about the same level as last year, with 80 percent of consumers telling NPD they will spend $500 or less per child.

 

MP3 Players Top the Consumer Electronics Market
According to leading marketing information provider, The NPD Group, retail sales of U.S. console and portable video games hardware, software and accessories saw an increase of 21 percent during the first half of 2005 (January - June), compared to the same time period last year.
