Haven't you always wished you could see the information you want to see in the way you want to see it?

You can with NPD’s "My Preferences."

This shortcut presented by NPD Funworld Account Manager Kelly Falco.

If you're working in an industry that has numerous categories, but your job primarily focuses on a single category, My Preferences lets you customize the default settings you prefer. That means you don’t have to reset them each time you pull up a report!

Here's a tip to quickly and easily set up and save your preferences.

  • Log in to Solution Folders.
  • Go to "My Preferences."
  • Under "Report Criteria" you can:
    • Set the industry segment for the data you subscribe to, if you subscribe to more than one.
    • Set the category, time scale, and measure that you view most often.
    • Save a different set of report criteria preferences for each data source (consumer or POS) you have access to.
  • Under "Report Views" you can:
    • Choose to view data tables only, or view data tables along with formatted graphs.
    • Select the format in which you want the data to be exported into Excel (.xls, HTML, ASCII).
  • When finished setting preferences, click the “ Save” button to save your preference changes. Or, click “Reset” to undo any changes you have made to the current screen.

All of the defaults you set will carry over to future sessions. When you access a report, your preferences will be displayed exactly the way you selected, so you can get right into the data without having to reselect what you want to see.

To change your preferences, click on “My Preferences” at the top of any page.
