“So those huge sales that were designed to lure the customer in really don’t seem to have had much of an impact. They aren’t bringing the consumers back in to shop,” said Marshal Cohen, chief industry analyst, The NPD Group, Inc.

Today’s uncertain economy is top-of-mind for everyone. Consumers and retailers alike are concerned and confused about what tomorrow will bring, and what to do about it.

The blue sections show the percent of consumers who were successfully converted from the previous step in the process to the current step. As an example, 68.8 percent are willing to consider this particular brand, yet only 24.9 percent have actually purchased it.
