Do you frequently export your NPD PowerView reports to another application?

If so, NPD PowerView 5.0 can really be a time-saver. You can bypass the PowerViewer screen and run your reports directly into Excel, Access, PowerPoint, or a text file.

OPEN POWERVIEW REPORTS DIRECTLY IN THE APPLICATION
WITH WHICH YOU’RE WORKING

To export a single report into another application:

  • Create your report on the Report Layout screen.
  • On the Run Report button, click on the drop-down arrow to the right of the words "Run Report.”
  • Select Export from the menu choices.
  • This will open the Output box, where you can choose any of the export options you use in PowerViewer.
  • Click on OK to open your NPD data in the application you selected.

You can also set your default preferences to quickly export all reports you create directly to the application in which you work:

  • Click on the Edit menu and select Preferences.
  • Click on the word General on the left side, if necessary.
  • Change the Default Report Viewer by selecting the application of your choice from the drop-down menu.
  • Click on Export Settings on the left side of the Preferences screen to further customize your exporting defaults. Choose the options you prefer.
  • Click on OK to apply your changes.
  • Whenever you run a report, just click on the Run Report button to open your NPD data in the set application.

Setting PowerView defaults will significantly reduce the number of steps required to export a report – and it saves a great deal of your valuable time!
