The NPD Group Acquires STS Market Research

The NPD Group, a global provider of consumer and retail information and insights, has acquired STS Market Research, a Cambridge-based market research company serving the fashion industry. As part of the acquisition, NPD has also acquired the STS longitudinal research panel, AccuPanelSM. The transaction was completed
July 1, 2005.

 

The NPD Group Finds Americans Are Aware of Mad Cow Disease, But Not Overly Concerned

The latest mad cow case confirmed by the government did not cause Americans to be more worried about the disease. On June 24 th the U.S. government confirmed a second case of mad cow disease in the U.S. The NPD Group’s Food Safety Monitor found that most adults have heard or read something about mad cow disease (98%).

 

The NPD Group Reports On Retail Sales Of U.S. Video Games Industry
For First Half 2005

According to leading marketing information provider, The NPD Group, retail sales of U.S. console and portable video games hardware, software and accessories saw an increase of 21 percent during the first half of 2005 (January – June), compared to the same time period last year.

 

Video Industry Continues to Thrive, According to The NPD Group
Russ Crupnick, president of The NPD Group’s Music and Movies division, outlined today several key video acquisition trends for the video/DVD industry. During a presentation at The Video Software Dealers Association’s (VSDA’s) “Home Entertainment 2005” industry conference, Crupnick reported that video content acquisition from all sources (rentals, purchases, subscriptions, video-on-demand, pay-per-view and online digital downloads) increased four percent this year over last year.
